"Impermanence"
I was reminded in my most recent ceremonial work with Noya Rao and Ayahuasca that every flavor of experience we have in life is temporary and fleeting. We have a tendency as humans to resist states of being and emotion that we define as "negative" and want them to pass quickly because they are uncomfortable to fully feel, or sometimes fear that this difficult emotion, experience, or state if mind will forever continue. Conversely we have a tendency to attach to what we define as "positive" and want it to last longer, or perhaps hold a fear that someone or something will happen to "take it away".
Noya Rao and Rose have been profound teachers of a form of acceptance and surrender to the natural internal and external shifts I experience in day to day life. In this way they have shown me that this full surrender to however I find myself feeling or existing in any given moment DOES help a difficult emotion or mental state shift more quickly, as well as an expansive emotion or mental state to become more anchored and frequent over time.
They have taught me that all of life is sacred--all spectrums of emotions felt, all qualities of thoughts and activity of the mind, all people encountered and interactions shared, all challenging, painful, or traumatic experienced, as well as those of bliss and love are sacred--all bring a sense of aliveness to this human experience and serve a purpose or imparts a valuable teaching.
When I am able to approach the moment to moment ebb and flow of my life circumstances and internal state of being, I open myself to receive clarity and understanding around any difficult experience, interaction, or external situational manifestation as well as guidance to how to navigate through it with grace. Change can only come through a full acceptance of what is, guidance from spirit can only come from letting go of the attachment to the desired outcome and being ok with what is.
I've been told over and over by plant medicines to "stop resisting my reality" and this post is sort of an unpacking of this repetitive message for anyone who needs to receive it right now.
