Rose & Cacao Ceremony
Cacao and Rose, whether on their own or combined, carry equal potential for deep healing and transformation as Ayahuasca, when given a space conducive to this level of work! I want to speak on Cacao here (see the Plant Dieta page for more information about Rose), because I find she is greatly underestimated as a plant medicine in the overall spiritual community and in the ways she is commonly shared in large group settings. I have a strong background in Shipibo Ayahuasca and Dieta work, and my teachers have permitted me to diet Cacao along with the other plants. In my connection with Cacao, she acts as a portal to all of the other plants I am connected to, and my work with Cacao is much more similar to an Ayahuasca ceremony, and more shamanic level energetic work than what is typically found in Cacao Spaces.
When Cacao is consumed in its raw and natural form straight from a peeled bean, the Theobromine remains intact, as opposed to being converted to Caffeine through the heat used to make a solid block. The Theobromine in raw Cacao is extremely relaxing for the nervous system and helps to calm and center the mind to facilitate more of a meditative, internal journey-like space much like Ayahuasca. If someone is called, I add Medicinal Hampi Rose to the medicine.
The True Power of Cacao
I find that the way Cacao functions as a plant medicine is dependent on the connection and relationship the facilitator shares with her spirit, and the way they choose to guide the space. Cacao is commonly used in large group and outwardly expressive settings such as a Kirtan, song circle, or ecstatic dance, but I feel her true potential and power as a teacher comes when given a space of extended focus, prayer, and periods of stillness.
At times I incorporate a variety of embodiment practices into a Cacao Ceremony, such as somatic communication, Intuitive movement and dance, breathwork, or vocalizing to assist you in the process of accessing, expressing, and transforming stagnant energy and emotion. Every ceremony is completely unique and intuitively guided in each moment based on the guidance I receive from Cacao.
In a private setting, every moment of a ceremony is completely dedicated to only your process that arises and your prayer. In this setting, there is no distraction to pull your focus away from your process and all of the medicine’s energy, as well as mine as a facilitator and channel, is directed toward your specific intentions and needs. This space allows for the full cathartic expression of emotion, sound, and movement that is often discouraged in larger group ceremonies.
Remote Ceremonies (via Zoom)
I realize the concept of "remote plant medicine" may be foreign to some people, and it was to me for many years! I was introduced this through seeking assistance from my Shipibo maestro in a time when I was unable to travel to the jungle and receiving a remote Ayahuasca ceremony in which he drank the medicine on my behalf and connected with me remotely as he sang and moved through the space on his end. I was left in humble awe in the power and effectiveness of his remote work, and began exploring this through myself about a year later when I was guided through a self led Dieta with Rose to begin offering transmissions of Icaro remotely. This eventually led to me holding ceremony and Dieta remotely.
In remote ceremony work, I provide assistance in sourcing quality Cacao, Rose, and/or Bobinsana based on your location, and give detailed instructions in preparing it properly at home. Once a month, I open public ceremony space over one weekend, limited to 6 participants per ceremony. In the group remote ceremonies, we open with a period of spoken prayer through each person present speaking to their intentions before drinking the pre-prepared medicines together. This is followed by a period of silent meditation before I enter an intuitively guided flow of channeled song, visualization, guided somatic release practices, and periods of silence based on the unique ceremony unfolding in the moment and the collective healing process that arises in the space.
You may choose to attend only 1 or 2 of the 3 ceremonies in these weekend offerings, or to join all of them as an immersive experience of daily ceremony, akin to a miniature soft Dieta.
